Welcome to the new web site for the Superkart Club of NSW inc.  The purpose of this third generation site is to be more "NSW club centric" rather than the generic Superkart Electronic brochure with some local news thrown in, as we have been in the past. A primary objective of this site is to be totally up to date and interesting, as we want you to keep coming back for the latest information.

Superkarting is commonly known as the Formula 1 of karting. For eight of the ten years that the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix was held in Adelaide, Superkarts were a preferred support class. On numerous occasions Superkarts have supported both the V8 Touring Cars and the Truck Grand Prix rounds.

Superkarting is regarded as one of the fastest forms of motorsport in not only this country but in the world. This was recognised when we were invited as a main support at the Australian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix in 1996 and received television coverage on both days.

The lap times of these 250cc International Superkarts at this meeting set a faster lap time than Mick Doohan's time for pole position for the race meeting.

Superkarts have been recorded at speeds in excess of 240 KPH at certain circuits around the world. At many of the Australian circuits the larger capacity karts are quicker than touring cars, most categories of cars and 500cc GP bikes.

Take the next step and race at similar or better lap times than most major categories of motorsport, for in most cases for a fraction of the cost. No need for expensive transporters, large workshops or large teams of specialist mechanics.

Many Sprint karts drivers have stepped up to Superkarts and now race at the top motor racing circuits in Australia. Whilst Superkarting's profile is continually increasing, at present there are approximately 450 competitors across Australia.

Major race meetings such as the National Titles attract up to 140 entries and club level race meetings are generally between 40 and 60 entries.
